A Japan Airlines flight collided with a Japan Coast Guard fixed-wing aircraft at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and caught fire, resulting in the death of five people on board the fixed-wing aircraft. The authorities are investigating the case for business negligence causing death or injury. Sources from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism stated that before the accident, the airport control tower approved the landing of the JAL passenger plane and instructed the fixed-wing aircraft to wait on the side of the runway. However, the captain of the fixed-wing aircraft said that he was approved to take off at that time.

In Beijing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that there were 14 Hong Kong tourists on the passenger plane involved, and the embassy in Japan reissued travel documents for some of them.
