Plane crash in southern Chile leaves seven dead

After noon this Friday, a plane suffered an accident in the Aysén Region in southern Chile, while covering the Coyhaique-Chile Chico route, local aeronautical authorities reported.

A public statement from the company Transportes Aéreos San Rafael, owner of the Gaitero Navajo aircraft registration CC-CRN, reported that at 9:13am the plane bound for Chile Chico went missing from the radars in the Las Horquetas sector, in the Coyhaique commune.

Immediately afterwards, the Chilean General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) activated the search and rescue protocols; However, when they arrived at the site they found no traces of survivors.

Later, at 1:44 pm, air traffic controllers confirmed in a statement the death of the six passengers plus the pilot. “DGAC investigations are heading to the site to carry out the respective investigation,” the institution indicated.

Earlier this Friday, a plane carrying 58 passengers and four crew members crashed. crashed in the city of Vinhedo, in the interior of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, reported the G1 portal.

The City Council of Valinhos, a neighboring city to Vinhedo, reported in a statement that there were no survivors of the accident.
