Opened for a few days in La Louvière, the second store of what is slowly becoming a chain, Planet Destock offers its customers daily use products such as household products, confectionery, chips, cereals but above all drinks. “These are basic products that everyone needs,” explains Céline, saleswoman in the store managed by Bilal Gnouma. “We regularly receive shipments of well-known drinks both in their normal version but sometimes in their foreign version, therefore with a slight difference in taste.”
After Boussu, this is already the second Planet Destock store. “In our Boussu store, we noticed that we received a lot of customers who came from La Louvière, Manage or Binche. So when we thought about a new store, we didn’t have to search long to find a place to drop off. This type of store is the future and many customers realize that.”
Decreasing prices
In the area of stock clearance, prices are decreasing. “It is possible to buy a bottle of coke by the piece but it will be much more expensive than by the pack. And often, if you follow the promotions carefully, you are often cheaper than in France when it comes to drinks. And if we are not, at least our presence allows customers in the region not to travel all the way there, so they always win. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
And contrary to popular belief, clearance does not necessarily mean expired dates. “Not at all even. As in any supermarket, we sometimes collect batches whose expiry date is close but never passed. And when that happens, we do a great promotion and the customers are happy.”
The Planet Destock in La Louvière is open Monday to Saturday from 9 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. rue Léopold III in AL Louvière, right next to Carglass.
