Playstation VR2: Sony’s new VR generation!

The time has finally come: Sony has announced the next generation of their VR glasses with the Playstation VR2. There is also a new controller.

At the time, Sony hadn’t said a word about the future of VR gaming when it announced the Playstation 5. but a few months later the company solved the riddle. It should definitely go back to virtual reality, but you have to be patient a little longer until concrete information is available. These have now been met with the announcement of the Playstation VR2.

This is the title of the latest VR glasses Sony is working on for the Playstation 5. With the latest generation, the original variant has been given a major overhaul and with it new features that players can look forward to.

Sony promises, among other things, support for 4K, HDR, a field of view of 110 degrees and a new rendering technology that supports eye tracking. The resolution should be 2000 × 2040 per eye and the frame rates should be in a range of 90/120 Hz.

In addition, cameras have been integrated into the headset, which means that our movements and the directions in which we move and turn our heads are reflected in the game. This makes the use of an external camera obsolete.

In addition to the new glasses, a new generation of controllers will be released with the PS VR2 Sense, which promises a more immersive gaming experience. So any tense and pulse-inducing moments should be brought as close as possible to the players. This is supported by eye tracking, a headset feedback and 3D audio.

That brings us to eye tracking itself. However, the feature is pretty self-explanatory, as the movements of a gamer’s eyes are monitored by the technology and transferred to the gaming world. The feature is intended to increase realism when playing.

Horizon Call of the Mountain will be the first title to support both VR glasses and the new controllers. But it will still be interesting to see which other games will end up on the list. You can find all further information about the glasses here.

Which of you are going to invest in VR?
