Inn-Salzach-Classics for the first time in the Upper Austrian-Bavarian discovery district

Braunau am Inn – On September 16th and 17th, 2023, the most beautiful vintage cars will be chugging through the still young, Austro-Bavarian tourism destination discovery district around Braunau, Simbach, Mattighofen and Burghausen for two days for the first time during the “Inn-Salzach Classics”. The tourism association and association are doing something together, also calling the tour “pleasure traffic” – across the borders. Which are actually no longer in the discovery quarter…

“We will combine our vintage cars and cross-border tourism on both sides of the rivers Salzach and Inn with our partners in a charming way and ultimately for a good cause for two days,” says Klemens Steidl, chairman of the association, full of euphoria. Likewise the managing director of the only cross-border tourism association in Austria, Georg Bachleitner. He is pleased that “our tourist border traffic is now becoming leisure traffic not only with bikes, but also with historic vehicles on two September days”.

The members of the classic car club are not lacking in experience. “We have many years of experience and have often taken part in various classic events.” The “Inn-Salzach Classics” are by no means aimed at profit! Above all, historical vehicles should be brought in front of the curtain and driven through the beautiful landscape. The event will take place in any weather!

In the two days after the start, the route leads from the “pit lane in Uttendorf” on the one hand south towards Salzburg via Oberndorf and many attractive and exciting waypoints and special stages. Then, in the evening, the gasoline talks at the Braugasthof Vitzthum are fixed! On the second day we head north again, in the direction of Schärding am Inn. About small detours and other special stages also on both sides of the Inn. Finally, the finish line is at Helpfauer Hof, where the award ceremony for both days takes place. Incidentally, the “Inn-Salzach Classic” is now to take place annually. Of course on different routes in the discovery district and beyond.
