Louisville Field Hockey Star Aimee Plumb honored as Academic All-American for Second Time

AUSTIN, Texas – University of Louisville field hockey graduate Aimee Plumb has been recognized for her extraordinary achievements both on and off teh field, earning a spot on the 2024-25 Academic All-America® WomenS At-Large third team, as selected by college Sports Communicators (CSC).

This prestigious honor marks the second time Plumb has received this national recognition, previously earning the accolade following the 2022-23 season. She joins an elite group of athletes in program history, becoming only the second player to achieve this distinction multiple times, alongside Jessica Javelet (2004, 2005, 2006).

Plumb, a fifth-year senior midfielder hailing from Canterbury, Kent, England, excelled academically while competing at a high level. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in art, graduating with an extraordinary 4.0 GPA in May 2025. Her commitment to academics has been consistently recognized, including receiving the 2024-25 ACC excellence Award.

Throughout her career, Plumb has accumulated numerous academic accolades. A four-time CSC Academic All-District selection, she was twice named the ACC Field Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year (2022, 2023) and a four-time NFHCA National Scholar Athlete (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023). She is also a five-time NFHCA Scholar of Distinction and All-ACC field Hockey Academic Team honoree.

Plumb’s athletic prowess is equally noteworthy.The team co-captain concluded her playing career as a three-time All-America selection (2021, 2022, 2024), and a five-time NFHCA All-West Region team selection. She also earned three All-ACC honors.

in the 2024 season, Plumb contributed significantly to the team’s offense, scoring four goals and providing four assists for a total of 12 points. She leaves Louisville ranked seventh all-time in program history for points (86) and goals (30), and ninth in career assists (26).

To be considered for CSC Academic All-District and All-America honors, student-athletes must be at least sophomores academically and athletically, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

The women’s at-large team recognizes outstanding student-athletes across a variety of sports, including beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, and water polo. A total of 46 Division I student-athletes were honored, with 19 boasting a perfect 4.00 GPA.Plumb is one of eight repeat selections on this year’s teams.
