Elia Cuzzucoli, a young professional make-up artist, has recently taken the plunge. She opened her own establishment on Saturday July 15, in the city center of Tournai, at rue de la Cordonnerie: Plum’Elia.
In her shop, she obviously offers a make-up service for events, but also styling hair (bun, curls, clips…). “Before, I always went home. From now on, I can receive my customers for the tests and I move only for the D-day. This will mean that the shop will operate with flexible hours, but I will communicate them weekly on my Facebook page“, explains the young woman.
An all-in-one concept
Elia did not wish to offer only traditional services. She took her concept one step further. “When doing make-up and hair for home weddings, I would often be asked if I had flowers available to complete the makeover. That’s why I started in October 2022 in dried flowers. I now offer them in the store. You can put it in the hair or make bouquets, I also allow customers to make their own compositions.“
Elia also sells jewelry that she carefully selects. “I try to find jewelry that you don’t see everywhere. Generally, I choose them in a classic and soft style“, describes Elia.
Plum’Elia also offers small decorative items for the home or events, such as candles, baskets, statuettes…”Having this second string to my bow allows me to fill the slack period when fewer weddings are celebrated“, says Elia.
Workshops around dried flowers
This all-in-one shop is therefore made up of a store section, a small make-up and hairdressing area, but also a convivial area where there is a large table. “In this space, I intend to organize workshops around dried flowers. This can be a great activity for a bachelorette party, or a birthday party. Currently, I know that many people have gone on vacation, so I have not planned a workshop yet. I will launch this new activity at the end of August, beginning of September“, announces Elia.
The opening of Plum’Elia took place on Saturday July 15, but the boss wants to kick off with great fanfare. “There were about fifty people for the opening, but I want to organize a real inauguration party in September, after the holidays! “Elia will communicate the date of the event on its social networks.
