At first it looked worse: “Fire building – unclear whether there are people in the house” was the report. The Rindbach, Ebensee, Langwies and Roith fire departments, the Red Cross and the police responded.
“It wasn’t that bad,” says Jürgen Fellinger, commander of the Rindbach volunteer fire department. Hot ash in a plastic garbage can had set a nearby stack of tires on fire. The fire was quickly brought under control and the house next to it was protected, said the commander.
