Race Commentary
In this Troytown Pricewe saw the magnificent victory of the 5 year old SEL JEM (Photo). At the penultimate obstacle, they were six on the same line, in the order of the program, POLY GRANDCHAMP, DREAM WISH, GENERAL EN CHEF, EDDY DE BALME, PACHA SENAM and SEL JEM. On the flat, it is therefore the resident of H&G. Lageneste & Macaire who proved to be the strongest, making the difference in the last 100 meters. Brave EDDY DE BALME took the first runners-up ahead POLY GRANDCHAMP and the gray DREAM WISH. OVERALL IN CHEF placed fifth, while FULL-SCALEwho was behind at the entrance to the finish line, regained a lot of ground at the end.
Words (excerpts) from the winner’s jockey, Johnny Charron : “The test was conclusive. I had the order to gallop and ride him for him. At work, he was getting better and better. He is a horse that likes to go to the races. everything in the red during the course and in the end, he did it pleasantly. The road is still long for the Grand Steeplechase. In any case, the 6000 meters are not a concern for him.”
