Media reports said today, Monday, that Mauricio Pochettino’s days as coach of Paris Saint-Germain are numbered, although he led the team to the tenth French League title.
According to the French newspaper, Le Parisien, there is a possibility that Tottenham coach Antonio Conte will take over the team, replacing Pochettino.
Pochettino took charge of Paris Saint-Germain in January 2021 with a contract that runs until 2023, but the ambitious club again failed to win the Champions League, and was also left empty-handed from the French Cup.
The newspaper reported that Paris Saint-Germain officials had already settled on Pochettino’s departure.
The newspaper added that Zinedine Zidane is the favorite candidate for Saint-Germain officials, but the former Real Madrid coach is waiting to train the French national team in case Didier Deschamps decides to leave the team after the World Cup competitions, which will be held later in the year.
It is reported that Conte has a contract with Tottenham, who are fighting for a place in the top four qualifying for the Champions League.
“Le Parisien” also stated that Leonardo’s survival in his position as the team’s sporting director is no longer guaranteed, especially since the name of Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal coach, was mentioned as a possible alternative.
