Focused more on performance than on image capture, the X4 GT is equipped with an altogether classic dorsal photo block. It includes a main module with a 64-megapixel sensor and a wide-angle lens opening at f / 1.89, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 2-megapixel macro module.

In a fairly classic way, the Poco X4 GT allows you to obtain 16 megapixel shots using the pixel-binning combining four pixels into one. The results are convincing during the day: there is good exposure management, not too aggressive processing – unlike that of the A53, which accentuates the contrasts – and limited digital noise. The corners of the image lack a little sharpness, but it’s a common fault.
The management of low light is much less convincing. If the noise is also limited here, the colorimetry lacks accuracy, and we note above all a poorly controlled processing which results in smoothing and small artefacts visible on certain elements (the cover of the book, in particular). It is therefore better to avoid zooming when taking night images.
64 megapixel mode
As is often the case, it is possible to use a “full definition” mode on the main module of the smartphone. The 64-megapixel shots allow for larger cropping during the day, but they leave something to be desired in nighttime conditions.
Ultra wide-angle module: 8 megapixels, f/ 2.2
The processing of the shots taken using the ultra-wide-angle module of the smartphone favors contrast, unlike the wide-angle. However, the images lack sharpness, and the smartphone struggles to correct the distortion at the periphery.
At night, a significant noise affects the image and, with little contrast, it loses its details and its colors. Even compared to the results of a Galaxy A53, however unconvincing in this exercise, the X4 GT is behind.
Front module, portrait and video mode
The Poco X4 GT can shoot up to 4K at 30 fps, which is a good surprise given its price positioning. On the front, it goes up to a 1080p definition at 60 fps. As for the shots, they benefit from a definition of 20 megapixels (optics f / 2.45) delivering images suffering from a marked smoothing.
