Malappuram / Kozhikode: Victim of poxo case hanged at Malappuram Thenjipalam. The girl was found hanging in a rented house in Thenjipalam around 9.30 am today. The girl is a native of Ramanattukara, Kozhikode. The girl was only eighteen years old.

The girl is a victim of three pox cases including gang rape at Malappuram Kondotty police station and Kozhikode Farook police station. Her body is now in the Kozhikode Medical College mortuary.

The girl was staying with her mother and brother in a rented house in Thenjipalam. The mother told police that the child had hanged herself while she was on her way to send her younger brother to school. After arriving, he called the girl several times for breakfast but the door did not open. He then called the girl’s phone. Then the phone did not pick up. The mother said she found the girl hanging when she looked at the curtain through the window above the door.

Neighbors were called to the scene, and the girl was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. From there the girl’s body was shifted to the mortuary of Kozhikode Medical College.

Thenjipalam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Police said a detailed investigation would be launched into the girl’s death. The statement of the family members will be recorded in detail.
