Lenzerheide – Vali was reliable once more. Austria’s fastest woman on a downhill bike, Valentina “Vali” Höll, provided a perfect start to the season with a solid fourth place. The ambitious neo-Innsbrucker had hoped for more. But in the semi-finals, Höll – while in the lead – fell in the Rock Garden. That made it difficult for her to fully concentrate once more in the final, explained the reigning world champion. And so in the end she had to settle for fourth place. In downhill racing, the first five places are podiums.
