In the 1970s and 80s, the Pointer Sisters celebrated success with their mixture of pop, country and R&B with hits like “I’m So Excited” or “Jump (For My Love)”. Anita Pointer – the second oldest of the four sisters in the formation – died of cancer on Saturday in Beverly Hills at the age of 74. From the singing quartet only Ruth is alive, who last performed with her daughter Issa and granddaughter Sadako.
