Poland vs Czech Republic: Euro Qualifying Draw and Playoff Implications

2023-11-17 22:05:26

A few hours following Albania’s draw once morest Moldova (1-1), Poland and the Czech Republic were under pressure for the race to qualify for the next Euro. The two nations finally parted in a fairly logical draw (1-1). It was the Poles who opened the scoring, through Jakub Piotrowski (38th), following a mix-up in the Czech area.

As soon as they returned from the locker room, the Czech Republic came back to score, with a strike from Tomas Soucek (49th). With this draw result, Poland will have to go through the play-offs of the League of Nations for the next Euro, since it finishes in third place in group E. For its part, the Czech Republic will have to beat Moldova on Monday at 8:45 p.m. to ensure qualification.
