Pole vault: new outdoor world record for Duplantis

Armand Duplantis signed a new feat. The Swede won the pole vault competition at the Stockholm meeting counting for the Diamond League by passing a bar at 6m16.

This is a new outdoor world record. Duplantis (22) did even better indoors, where the wind does not play a role, with 6m20 at the indoor world championships in Belgrade at the end of March. The champion really evolves on another planet. He will obviously be the big favorite for the Worlds in Eugene in two weeks.

It crushes discipline

Before Duplantis, Ukrainian Sergey Bubka had jumped the highest outdoors: 6m14 in 1994. ‘Mondo’ Duplantis, who was born and raised in Louisiana with his American father and Swedish mother, crushes the jump perch for several years.

European champion in 2018 in Berlin, Olympic champion in 2021 in Tokyo, only the title of outdoor world champion is missing from his list.
