Police: a dangerous recidivist who escaped from the hospital has been arrested

The Lithuanian Prison Service reported on Saturday evening that a convict born in 1982 disappeared from the Marijampolė hospital around 21:05.

The police indicate that the Chief Police Commissariat of Marijampole County was informed that Mr. Vorobjov escaped from the hospital around 8:00 p.m. 10 minutes

The convict served his sentence in Marijampole prison and was brought to the hospital, where he has been treated for heart problems since March 28. The man left her dressed in hospital pajamas.

The Lithuanian Prison Service has started a pre-trial investigation into the prisoner’s escape. The convict was included in the list of persons who are prone to escape.

The portal “Delfi” reported that the refugee was convicted of the murder of three people and other serious crimes, and was supposed to be released no earlier than after 18 years.

Convicted of robbery, J. Vorobjov and another convict killed a man who was in the same cell in the then Lukiškii detention center-prison. Less than a month later, he committed a second murder: on the train that was transporting prisoners from Vilnius to Klaipėda, he and the same accomplice strangled an underage convict. They tried to kill one more, but he resisted and ran away from the stranglers. In 2001, the Vilnius District Court sentenced Mr. Vorobjov to 10 years in prison, because he committed the crimes as a minor.

“Delfi” points out that three years ago, while sitting in the Kybartai Correctional Facility, Mr. Vorobjov heard the 14th court verdict – the Kaunas District Court sentenced him to 13 years in prison for the murder of another prisoner.

Six years ago, in the Alytus correctional facility, J. Vorobjov attacked the then head of the Health Care Service, Albertas Jankauskas. The doctor examined another prisoner, at which time J. Vorobyov stabbed him in the neck with a sharpened spoon handle.
