Police Intervention Saves Mother’s Life: Suspicion Leads to Rescue Mission

Etumanoor ∙ The police who flew within minutes to investigate the complaint of the 16-year-old girl who called for help saved her mother’s life. Due to opportune intervention, the police rescued the housewife who was struggling with death due to an overdose of pills after quarreling with her daughter. The suspicion felt by the police brought the housewife back to life. The police, who visited various hospitals throughout the night, ended the mission by ensuring that the housewife recovered by morning.

The girl called the police station asking for help at around 10:30 on Friday night. The girl asked that her mother had dropped her from home and was standing on the highway and wanted police help. On hearing the complaint, a police team led by SI H. Shahjahan rushed to the spot. When she reached there, the student was standing on the road 50 meters away from her house. When inquired about the matter, the mother said that she was not being given freedom, was being harassed and was thrown out of the house.

After persuading the student, the police took the child to the house. On arrival, some of the appliances in the house were battered. When asked, the girl said that she herself had beaten them in anger towards her mother. The student’s complaint is that her mother did not agree when she asked to take her to the cinema at night.

The girl, who is studying in the UK, came back recently. The family was planning to go back to the UK tomorrow. In this situation, the mother said no to the night travel which made the girl angry.

When the police arrived at the girl’s house, they found her mother crying and exhausted. The mother told the police that her daughter was stubborn and did not give her peace. The SI got suspicious seeing the housewife’s tongue twitching and her eyelids closing while talking. The police first took them to a private hospital in Tellakkam and then to the medical college hospital.

On the way to the hospital, the housewife revealed to the police that she had taken an overdose of pills. Medical college hospital authorities said that if there was a little delay, lives would have been lost.

A team consisting of Etumanur SI H. Shahjahan, driver Nitin Srinivasan, home guard Rajapan and woman civil police officer Lekha carried out the rescue operation.
