The police services carried out a vast control operation on Saturday on the access and exit ramps of the motorways in East and West Flanders, which led to several arrests as well as the seizure of drugs.
Called “Highway” and carried out in no less than 31 police zones of the two provinces in the afternoon and evening, the operation led to the checks of several thousand vehicles, according to a press release from the federal police released Sunday.
Around ten people were arrested on this occasion. The police also seized sometimes large quantities of drugs (cocaine, amphetamines, ecstasy, cannabis, etc.). More than 10,000 breath tests were also carried out, 85 of which were positive.
In total, nearly 400 reports were drawn up for various offenses (speeding, lack of insurance, lack of license, etc.). Around twenty drivers also had their driving licenses withdrawn immediately.
