The West can provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons. This was told by the Polish member of the European Parliament Radosław Sikorski.
According to him, warheads will be needed by Kyiv to protect independence. He justifies this by saying that Russia allegedly violated the Budapest Memorandum.
The document Sikorsky is talking about was signed in 1994 by Russia, Ukraine, the US and the UK. Its full name is the Memorandum on Security Assurances in Connection with Ukraine’s Accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (after the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine became nuclear-free).
