Sosnowiec: death in the priest’s apartment. The circumstances of the young man’s death are under investigation
The death was said to have occurred in the apartment of the priest of one of the parishes in Sosnowiec.
The priest and the services called to the scene were supposed to resuscitate the injured man, but he could not be saved. According to the spokeswoman of the Sosnowiec police, Katarzyna Cypel-Dąbrowska, activities in this case are ongoing.
The diocesan curia in Sosnowiec commented on the matter in more detail, stating in a statement posted on its website that it was with deep sadness and disbelief that it received information about the incident that took place in the apartment occupied by a priest of one of the parishes in Sosnowiec.
Despite the resuscitation efforts undertaken by the priest and the paramedics he called, the life of the young man present in the apartment could not be saved. Routine investigations by the prosecutor’s office are being carried out. The Diocesan Curia in Sosnowiec fully cooperates with the procedural authorities,” assured representatives of the diocese.
The case is being handled by the Sosnowiec-Północ District Prosecutor’s Office. The head of this unit, Zbigniew Pawlik, said after 15 PAP that an investigation has not been formally initiated yet. The inspection of the place where he (the man) died began just after noon and is still ongoing, the prosecutor said. This is a very preliminary stage of the proceedings, the prosecutor went to the site with police officers, technicians and a forensic expert,” he noted.
