The incident happened on the eve of the November 2019 district council election. At that time, when Ho Junyao was canvassing votes at Tuen Mun Street Station, he was attacked by an unemployed man with a knife, causing a 2 cm stab wound to the chest, and Ho Junyao’s bodyguard was also injured. The man was eventually arrested on the spot and sentenced to nine years in prison.
