Even if it is still in the lead in voting intentions, the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) recorded a significant drop in its support, to the benefit of Québec solidaire and the Conservative Party of Quebec.

If an election had taken place at the start of the year, the CAQ would have garnered 38% of the votes, according to a probe conducted from January 6 to 8, 2022 among 1,105 Quebec voters aged 18 and over by the firm Mainstreet on behalf of of the review L’Actualité plus, published Thursday.
In comparison, the last Léger poll conducted in early December gave 46% of the voting intentions for François Legault’s party.
Far behind, Dominique Anglade’s Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) has today garnered 20% of support and Quebec solidaires 19%, reported L’Actualité. This is all the same a significant increase for the latter, to whom the most recent polls granted between 12 and 14% for a year, it was noted.
Eric Duhaime’s Conservative Party also seems to be taking advantage of the general discontent with regard to the important health measures put in place by the government and is now harvesting 13% of voting intentions across the province.
It is three points more than the Parti Québécois (PQ) of Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, which finishes dead last of the main provincial political parties with 10% of the voting intentions.
