The Pope underlined that lack of production of food items and lack of resilience of agricultural systems will adversely affect nutrition supply.
Fraternal solidarity
The Pope observed that the fraternal solidarity has been exacerbated by the Covid-19 virus crisis. Fraternal solidarity has declined due to selfishness. An example of this is the current economic problems. A crisis should become an opportunity to learn from past mistakes.
There is a need not only to focus on technical solutions, but above all to cultivate a spirit of universal solidarity. The Pope said that virtues such as brotherhood, love and mutual understanding will help us all to overcome the crises we are currently facing.
