Pope Francis attended the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome on Tuesday to undergo medical check-ups, according to some Italian agencies that indicated that he is in the Center for Aging Medicine (Cemi) of the health center where he was hospitalized twice, the last time end of March.

Meanwhile, the Italian media indicated that it is unknown if it was a scheduled visit, but said that the Supreme Pontiff had nothing planned on his agenda for today.

On May 26, the Pope had to cancel his schedule due to having a fever, but the next day he reappeared in good health and continued with his activities.

At the end of last March, Francisco had been hospitalized for three nights at the Gemelli hospital in Rome for “acute pneumonia”, as he explained during the return flight from his trip to Hungary.

“What I have had is that I felt bad following the hearing, I did not want to eat and I went to sleep, but I did not lose consciousness, I only had a high fever,” he indicated regarding his hospitalization, which was the second in the health center. After he underwent colon surgery on July 4, 2021, he was hospitalized for ten days and had a slow recovery.

Since then, the pope has also had a problem with his right knee that forces him to walk with a cane, but he has said on several occasions that he does not want surgery.
