Due to a massive cheater problem, a popular shooter game will soon be unavailable. Here’s what that means for gamers.
The online shooter “The Cycle: Frontier” by the German studio Yager is discontinued after just one year. The developer studio shares this on his website with. There, the Berlin studio announced that despite all efforts and improvements, it was not possible to make the game financially viable.
The start in 2022 was initially successful, Yager even had to increase server capacity. But then the number of players collapsed. The reason is too many cheaters. Now the online shooter will be completely discontinued on September 27, 2023 and the servers will be shut down. Until then, Yager is taking some measures to speed up game progress.

The game fell short of the studio’s expectations and faced numerous cheaters shortly after launch. Although Yager tried to get the problem under control with targeted measures, many players dropped out.
The game can be used until September 27th. However, players can no longer make in-game purchases. A new installation via the Epic Games Store is also no longer possible. A new installation is only possible via Steam until September 27th.
A refund will be offered to all players who have made a purchase in The Cycle: Frontier within the last 14 days (as of June 14, 2023 9am BST).
