Mr. Giau shared that his family had a career in growing yellow apricots. He inherited his grandfather and father’s passion for bonsai, so he also grew apricot trees for more than 13 years.
In 2017, while surfing Facebook, he saw an acquaintance posted for sale original porcelain flowers with unique colors that made him very impressed and began to learn about the hobby of hybridizing porcelain flowers.
In the two years 2017-2018, Mr. Giau participated in the porcelain flower growing group on social networking sites to find out, then he went to porcelain flower gardens in the West and Southeast provinces to learn how to cut, hybridize and sow flowers.
“I am fortunate to have a brother in Ho Chi Minh City teach me the techniques of growing and breeding porcelain flowers. The more I learn, the more passionate and determined I am to build my own porcelain flower garden “- Mr. Giau shared.
Thinking about doing it, in 2019, he invested more than 40 million dong to buy dozens of varieties of porcelain flowers from many neighboring provinces and cities, bought tools to grow flowers, and then started to breed new varieties of porcelain flowers.
Initially following the recipe, Mr. Giau failed many times when the flowers produced were not up to standard, not beautiful, mass color. Learning from experience, he randomly crossed a flower (father flower) with many different types (mother flower) at the same time to produce many types of F1, increasing the probability of random crossbreeding, from that produces more unique individuals.
With a cool hand, in a short time, Mr. Giau has bred many new varieties of porcelain flowers with beautiful names by him, such as: Ngoc Thuy Tien, Hoang Tien Huong, Ngoc Luu Ly, Ngoc Phu Dung, Tue Dan, Dong Tra, Cam Dan…
There are new flower varieties, Mr. Giau excitedly “shows off” the results on social networking sites, groups that love porcelain flowers, attracting many people to come and ask to buy. Mr. Giau boldly expanded the garden 2 times, with an area of more than 2 public lands to propagate the flowers he bred.

Each original porcelain flower costs from a few tens of thousands of dong to a few hundred thousand dong, and the original price is up to several million dong, depending on the color and scarcity of the flower. Thanks to his cool hands in flower breeding, along with the application of information technology in business, his hybrid porcelain garden model is known and bought by more and more people. His customers are from North to South, including foreign customers. The business is growing day by day.
In addition to breeding flowers for sale, he also sells exclusive varieties to those in need, committing not to propagate such flowers in any form to ensure exclusivity for buyers. “To get a New flower varieties are beautiful and unique, must have basic knowledge of flower hybridization.
