As part of its “Turbo for Talents” youth development programme, Porsche presented the “Porsche Turbo Award” to three young athletes from the seven partner clubs in the categories of best sporting development, best school performance and exceptional social commitment. Sports journalist Daniel Räuchle, stadium announcer for the Stuttgarter Kickers, moderated the event.

There was an extensive supporting program surrounding the award ceremony. This included a panel discussion with Porsche brand ambassador and “Turbo for Talents” godfather Sami Khedira and Bastian Buus, a driver from the Porsche Motorsport Junior program. They talked about the special features and challenges of their sporting careers. Along with Marc Lieb and an instructor from the Porsche Experience Center at the Hockenheimring, Bastian Buus was also involved in another highlight for all award winners, the co-pilot drive on the Porsche handling track. In addition, the young athletes had the opportunity to measure themselves against the time presented by Bastian Buus on the racing simulator. In the afternoon, a football freestyler was available to teach prize winners tricks if they were interested. He also appeared on stage with his own program immediately before the award ceremony.

The program in the Stuttgart region supports the Porsche Basketball Academy Ludwigsburg, the SV Bietigheim-Bissingen Steelers (ice hockey) and the SV Stuttgarter Kickers. In East Germany, Rasenballsport Leipzig and FC Erzgebirge Aue are among the partners. In the west, the sports car manufacturer Borussia Mönchengladbach promotes. The Red Bull Academy Salzburg was also a partner this year. (awm)
