When the heads of state and government of the member states of the Council of Europe met in Reykjavík, Iceland, in the middle of this week, the rare meeting of the Strasbourg body was of course primarily regarding one thing, namely the Russian war of aggression once morest Ukraine. At the end of the two-day meeting, a resolution was also announced: a damage register should be set up to document the damage caused by Russia in Ukraine. This might then serve as the basis for compensation payments in the future.
