Check your physical condition, that of your family and close people, if you can, help people who need it and that you see on the surface (not under rubble) and wait for help from relief agencies.
If you are still at home and facing strong earthquakes, turn off gas, power and water supplies. If you smell gas, avoid turning switches or lighting matches, open windows, notify the fire brigade and go to a safe area.
Check your home for signs of possible collapse or serious structural damage such as: cracks in walls, columns and roof plates, leaning structure, external cracks in the floor.
