Postal workers prepare strike for April

Postal workers prepare a strike for April 4th looking for improvements in the work environment. In addition, they also require a public tender to be called urgently.

According to Folha, the strike and the mobilization calendar were approved by the National Federation of Workers in Postal, Telegraph and Similar Companies (Fentect) at the end of February.

State employees must still ask that the risk premium for motorcyclists not be suspended, and there are also complaints regarding the resizing of districts.

In the unions’ view, this should cause “overload” of workers.

Commenting on the matter, Correios says it has “reopened the doors” to union representation, and an organizing committee has already been chosen to hold the state-owned company’s public competition.

In addition, the company also recently reached a collective agreement with its employees.

The negotiation was carried out without the intervention of labor courts, which had not happened for seven years, reviving more than 40 clauses that had been extinguished and guaranteeing an increase of almost 12% for some employees.

Finally, Correios states that it must keep the negotiating table open with workers’ federations to discuss the public tender and also the sizing of districts.
