Postponing the “general” of the Emirates Retirees Association

The Emirates Retirees Association postponed its regular general assembly, due to the lack of a quorum, due to the recent climatic conditions and the resulting impediment to movement in some regions of the country.

The association had held its meeting at the Police Academy last Thursday evening, in the presence of Obaid Hadid, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, Salem Ali, Vice President, Aisha Al-Moadhin, Secretary of the Association, Ahmed Al-Shaibani from the Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Community Development, and Hessa Al-Raisi, the representative of the ministry, and Aisha Al-Kamali, treasurer. and a number of members of the association.

Obaid said: The postponed general assembly meeting is supposed to elect a new board of directors, discuss and approve the report of the board of directors in the previous period, approve the budget and the final account, and listen to members’ suggestions and opinions, noting that the circumstances that the country faced during the past two days, one of The most important reasons for the lack of a quorum, thanking the wise leadership and its great role through its directives to help and rescue the affected people.

He stressed that the association’s board of directors seeks to include all retirees in the state and from all parties to its membership to achieve many goals that serve this segment of society, especially that the giving of many of them can continue; As the association includes more than 4,000 retirees, 320 of whom have completed their registration, including military and civilian retirees, and these various experiences can be benefited from in developing performance within government and private agencies and institutions, in order to keep pace with the development process that the country is witnessing.

The Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors praised the great role and continuous giving of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in supporting the Society and through the Social Services Department, noting that the Board of Directors sought during the previous period to create partnerships with many Entities that contribute to supporting and assisting retirees, easing their living burdens and benefiting from their experiences, through agreements concluded with a number of institutions, including the support provided by the Sharjah Charity Association.
