The objective of the maneuver is to lower the dam’s reservoir level to guarantee a correct functioning of the security system. The work is being carried out in 15-minute intervals, with increasing flows, in steps of 50 cubic meters per second, up to a maximum flow of 250 cubic meters per second.
The turbine flow from the Álvarez Condarco Hydroelectric Power Plant will be reduced to 15 cubic meters per second during the opening of the bottom discharger, so the flow delivered by the river from this point downstream will be 265 cubic meters per second.
The tasks are being supervised by the Potrerillos Phase II inspection and by the concessionaire company CEMPPSA.
