One day actor and producer Lal got a phone call. On the other hand Prabhu who is Tamil actor and actually son of Shivaji Ganesha. When all the inquiries were over, Prabhu hesitated and asked one thing, ‘Lal sir, I heard that a Malayalam movie called Nadikar Thilakam is coming out, is it true?’ ‘Hahaha, that’s right sir, my son Jean is directing it. Then Prabhu said many things without touching the subject for some time. But Lal felt something wrong. Finally when Lal asked, Prabhu opened his mind. “To all Tamilians and fans, ‘Nadikar Tilak’ means Shivaji Ganesha. They cannot imagine anyone else by that name. So I have been asked to request that the name of the film be changed slightly. It is never a demand, but a request. It would be good if you could consider it.”
From there, the rest of the story can be heard in Lal’s voice at a stage set up in a prominent hotel in Kochi. “When Prabhu Sir said that, Gene and his team were shooting for the film in Kashmir. Prabhu told sir that I will give a positive reply within a week. But I felt it was not right to take a week. I reached Kashmir the very next day and met Jean and told him about it. Prabhu sir had also sent a voice message apologizing for making such a demand to us. I told Jeanne that. After hearing that, my son said, let’s change the name of this. It is not right not to do such a thing when a great person like Prabhu Sir requests it. I respect him like a father. Let’s name it something else. The very next day I informed Prabhu Sir about this. So I thought, why not ask something back? If so, Prabhu sir asked if he could come to Kerala himself to announce the name change of this film. He happily agreed to it,” Lal paused.

So Prabhu today renamed the Tovino Thomas film ‘Nadikar Tilaka’ as ‘Nadikar’ directed by Lal Jr. Prabhu thanked Lal and his family for agreeing to change the name in response to the request. Earlier in a letter sent to ‘Amma’ organization, ‘Nadikar Thilakam Shivaji Samooga Nala Peravai’ organization requested to change the name of the film. Today, along with the name change, the first look poster of the film was released. Bhavana is the heroine in Tovino’s film. Soubin Shahir also plays an important role. Nadikar also has the distinction of being Tovino and Saubin’s first film together. Apart from Prabhu and Lal, Tovino, Soubin, Suresh Krishna and others also participated in the ceremony to announce the name change of the film. The film will release on May 3 this year.
