Political observer from Al Azhar University Indonesia, Ujang Komarudin, assesses that Prabowo Subianto’s planned meeting with the Chair of the PDI-P DPP, Puan Maharani, will be realized.
According to him, the meeting was the starting point for Prabowo’s meeting as president-elect with PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Ujang explained that Megawati sent her daughter, Puan Maharani, to meet Prabowo as a way of political communication for Megawati, who in the 2024 presidential election supported the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair.
“Prabowo’s meeting with Puan is just a matter of time. It could be during Eid, it could be before the decision (presidential election dispute trial) of the Constitutional Court (MK) on April 22. That will be the starting point for Prabowo and Megawati’s meeting,” said Ujang when contacted , Monday (8/4).
He believes that the relationship between Prabowo and Megawati or Puan Maharani has not been problematic since the past. This was proven by the two of them uniting in the 2009 elections, and the absence of resistance when Prabowo served as Minister of Defense in 2019.
According to him, the planned meeting between Prabowo and Megawati is a positive thing. Apart from both being party chairmen, reconciliation is needed because it is more than just political power. Unity between previously fiercely competing camps marks an important step towards future nation-building.

“Then those who occupy power will count and will greet and greet each other. “The presidential election stages will be completed when there is a MK decision,” said Ujang.
Previously it was reported that Megawati assigned her daughter, who is also the Chair of the PDI-P DPP, Puan Maharani, to build communication with Prabowo. Puan carries a mandate to put the interests of the nation and state above everything else.
The results of Puan and Prabowo’s meeting will then determine the future meeting between Megawati and Prabowo. However, if you look at it from a political aspect, so far there have never been any problems between PDIP and the party led by Prabowo, the Gerindra Party. (Z-8)
