The businesswoman entered the Mexican financial system at the hands of Salinista Treasury Secretary Pedro Aspe, her mentor, and played an active role, as she has pointed out, in the bank rescue, which President López Obrador has always criticized. She now joins a long list of hopefuls headed for 2024.
