The airline company ultra low cost Spirit Airlines received last week the first of 32 Airbus A321neo expected.
Leased at AercapMSN11433 registered N702NK and equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines arrived at the end of May 2023 at the airport of Detroit, where a welcoming ceremony awaited him. Spirit Airlines has decided to configure its A321neo to accommodate 8 passengers in the “Big Front Seat” and 227 in Economy, i.e. 235 seats – seven more than in the thirty A321 current ones they will replace, and 45 more than in his 64 A320 et 78 A320neo (58 others awaiting delivery). The aircraft is now deployed on a daily rotation between the airports of Chicago et Fort Laudedale.
Spirit hopes to receive another seven A321neos this year in 2023, and 24 next year according to Airbus, although it expects delivery delays: “Given supply chain delivery issues, the timing of deliveries aircraft remains fluid and subject to change,” the Q1 financial results presentation noted.
