Premiere compact J3 DentaJet at IDS 2023

At IDS 2023, the trade fair for the dental industry in Cologne, Stratasys will launch a new type of multimaterial printer, especially for smaller dental laboratories, the J3 DentaJet. The stand also has an Origin One 3D printer in a modified version for the dental industry.

The focus will be on the Stratasys J3 DentaJet, the smaller brother of the J5 DentaJet. This printer mainly offers added value for smaller dental laboratories that have so far been limited to small table top 3D printers suitable for a single material. With the new 3D printer, they can take their dental production to the next level, says Ronen Lebi, Vice President Dental at Stratasys. “Adding a J3 DentaJet 3D printer can help labs produce best-in-class dental applications that require extreme accuracy as demand grows.”

Up to 3 different materials plus support material

This is a multi-material 3D printer. You can print 3 different materials and support material in one build (the J5 DentaJet 5 can print 5). The compact printer is suitable for various biocompatible materials (both clear, solid and flexible). With the printer you can print different products in one build, such as models for implants, surgical molds, gingiva masks as well as crowns, bridges, etc. The J3 features the same rotating build plate and uses Stratasys’ PolyJet technology. (maximum range is 140 by 200 by 190 mm). The print is already cured during the printing process, so that post processing is reduced to a minimum. The machine prints 37 aligners in just over 3 hours; in 4.5 hours 64 models for crowns and bridges. The Stratasys J3 DentaJet is programmed with the GrabCAD software.

Special version of Origin One

During the trade fair in Cologne, Stratasys will also be demonstrating other 3D printers, including the Origin One Dental. It can be used to produce various dental products, including models, soft and hard splints, molds, etc. However, the Origin One is a one-material 3D printer; it can only 3D print one material per print job, compared to the J3 DentaJet which can print up to 4 materials at once.

The dental trade fair IDS will take place from 14 – 18 March at Messe Köln-Deutz.

In the Benelux you can go to Seido-Systems for the Stratasys J3 DentaJet.
