Around a hundred people gathered in Rimouski to preserve the quality and diversity of regional information in Eastern Quebec.

The gathering, which was held at the Place des Anciens-Combattants, brought together elected officials, journalists and citizens who are demanding measures to preserve information in the region.
They are calling on government authorities to demand protection of the regional journalistic environment.
The gathering comes more than two weeks after the restructuring announced by the president and CEO of Quebecor, Pierre Karl Péladeau.
In a few months, the bulletins currently produced in Saguenay, Rimouski, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières will all be produced from Quebec.
Four journalists and two cameramen will remain stationed at the TVA Est-du-Québec station.
