President Bashar al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. 21 of 2023 granting human doctors working or contracting in hospitals and health centers a 100 percent work-related compensation.
Below is the text of the decree.
Legislative Decree No. 21
President of the Republic
According to the provisions of the Constitution.
Draws the following:
Article 1- Human physicians working or contracting in hospitals and health centers affiliated to the ministries (Interior – Defense – Higher Education and Scientific Research – Health) shall be granted a work-related compensation of 100% of the monthly wage fixed at the date of work performance.
Article 2 – In the event that those included in Article /1/ of this Legislative Decree receive more than compensation for the nature of work, they shall be entitled to the higher compensation.
Article 3 – The alimony resulting from the application of the provisions of this legislative decree shall be disbursed from the budgets of the relevant authorities.
Article 4 – This legislative decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall come into force as of the first of the month following the date of its issuance.
