After the parallel dollar had a significant rise in recent days to stand at 9.30 bolívares this Thursday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, broke his silence and spoke about it.
“There are those who intend to disrupt the economic recovery, I ask the people not to let themselves be robbed with the parallel dollar, the BCV dollar is the one that governs the rules of the market,” he launched in an act from the beaches of Adícora in the state Falcon.
He repudiated the rise and said that there is a “group of unscrupulous” who raise the parallel dollar. “I ask the people for maximum awareness, maximum awareness for merchants, there is a market dollar, which is legal,” he said, referring to the one from the Central Bank of Venezuela, which this Thursday stood at 7.83 bolívares.
“There is only one official exchange rate and it is that of the Central Bank of Venezuela, do not let yourself be robbed by the parallel dollar,” he insisted.
He pointed out that many want to “remove the file” from the parallel dollar to torpedo the economic growth that the country has had in recent quarters.
“That the people do not get it, enough of speculation … what do we want? That things go to waste or we want things to recover completely,” he said in relation to the improvement in the economic field that has occurred in the country.
