President Maduro urges to restructure regional and local governments

Caracas.- The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, instructed this Friday to consolidate a plan for the organic restructuring of regional and municipal governments, whose model should be the states of La Guaira and Miranda, together with Caracas.

The proposal will be prepared in accordance with the experiences of grassroots governance in the central region of the country, in charge of Governors Héctor Rodríguez, José Terán and Mayor Carmen Meléndez.

During a swearing-in ceremony for 607 community governments in La Guaira, Maduro specified that in seven days they be presented with a set of ideas that help revolutionize the State, the national, regional and municipal governments.

He explained that this idea seeks to “give all the power to the people” on purpose the 3R.Nets 2030, which must involve the restructuring of all levels of government to put them at the service of the people.

“We are going to give the organization chart and the operating structure of the governorships and mayors a shake. We are going to make a system of forces. We are going to start in the capital region,” said the national president.

He added that the plan will be proposed at the congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) on March 5 and 6, and at the “congress of the new era” to be convened later. “We are going to take it to have a clear vision of the plan,” he said.
