The event, under the motto “Road to modernization: the responsibility of political parties”, brings together leaders of political parties and organizations from many countries.
Delivering a keynote address at the meeting, Xi stressed that tolerance, coexistence, exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations play an irreplaceable role in advancing the modernization process of mankind and making the garden of humanity flourish. world civilization as well as the future of all countries that are closely connected today.
The Chinese president asked to defend the common values of humanity. Peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom are the common aspirations of all peoples, Xi said.
Xi stressed that countries should keep an open mind to appreciate the perceptions of different civilizations’ values, refrain from imposing their own values or models on others and stoking ideological confrontation.
The heritage and innovation of civilizations should be highly valued, Xi Jinping said on Wednesday.
Countries should fully seize the relevance of their histories and cultures for modern times and push for creative transformation and innovative development of their beautiful traditional cultures, Xi noted.

He called for respect for the right of each nation to explore its own path towards modernization, without abandoning global cooperation and solidarity to guarantee equitable access to growth opportunities.

Xi commented that along with this process, the Asian giant will open the doors of its market more, offer better national products, contribute with its own solutions to reduce the North-South gap and seek to accelerate the construction of its Strip initiative. and the Silk Road.
China first hosted a similar summit in 2017, and the 2021 summit was attended by more than 1,000 delegates from 500 parties from 160 territories.
That forum was held in the context of the celebrations for the 100 years of the CCP and Xi Jinping advocated joining forces and tightening coordination against unilateral practices disguised as multilateralism.
On this occasion, the meeting was held by videoconference and brought together dozens of presidents and leaders of their respective political parties in a session that coincided in presenting economic development scenarios that are different from the dynamics of dominant capitalism.
Under a scheme of a multipolar world against the hegemonic one, the participating leaders called to attend proposals that are consistent with the alternative development that they see for the well-being of their peoples.
