After Presumed innocent: The Michelle Perron affair et Presumed innocent: The France Alain affair, Marie-Claude Savard and Sébastien Trudel this time look at the case of Sébastien Métivier, a young boy kidnapped on November 1, 1984 in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district, in Montreal. “Initially, it was Sébastien who had the idea of investigating this matter. He remembered that at the time, Sébastien Métivier’s face was on the pints of milk, to signal his disappearance.

To reopen this investigation file dating back almost 40 years, the host went to meet the mother and sister of Sébastien Métivier, in order to obtain their agreement. “The human bond that we developed with this family was really very strong. As a mother, I who have children aged five and seven, I was extremely touched by the story of this mother whose son disappeared in 1984. This story tells one of the worst nightmares that parents can live. In our investigation, we are also looking into the cases of two other children, whose bodies were found and who had been kidnapped at the same time as Sébastien Métivier. We talk in particular about pedophiles and child predators. We also come to question the management of safety and the protection of children in our society. Through our approach, we discovered incredible things. The end result is three extremely gripping episodes. We are very proud of the work accomplished.”

A HEAVY WORKLOAD
Marie-Claude Savard says she is fortunate to have had the opportunity to film three seasons of Presumed Innocent. “I was very happy to work on this with Sébastien Trudel, with whom I also host on the radio. We get along and complement each other well. Sébastien is more Cartesian and reasoned than me, who is more emotional. With Presumed Innocent, we didn’t just want to retell the events of the crimes covered, but rather to seek out new information. This is what we managed to do and we are proud of it. However, investigative series like these require thousands of hours of work. With radio and our families, we are currently planning to take a break. We want to take the time to look into other matters of true crime which would have the potential to interest us in the future.”

The host also invites the public to listen to the podcasts recorded alongside the documentary series. “All Presumed Innocent podcasts are available at iheartradioca. These podcasts allow surveys to continue to evolve on the Web.”

HAPPINESS ON THE RADIO
Furthermore, Marie-Claude Savard has great pleasure in co-hosting the show with Sébastien Trudel and Mario Tessier. It goes to the post, broadcast weekdays from 2:55 p.m. on Énergie 94.3. “Since Mario joined us last year, the show has taken an even more humorous turn. We are fortunate to have very loyal listeners and good results in surveys. Plus, I share great chemistry with the guys. We laugh and have a lot of fun together. It’s very enriching for me. I also consider that I am currently experiencing the best moments of my career! I’m really in a good place.”

A STABLE FAMILY LIFE
In a relationship for 12 years with TV producer Jean-Martin Bisson, the documentary maker is not shying away from the chance of having finally found a good balance in her personal life. “My children, Henri and Charlotte, are now at school. Before, when they were babies, it was more difficult for me to balance work and family. We are now lucky to have a good family structure and everything is going well for us. I have no worries at the moment.”

IN THE RING WITH CATHY GAUTHIER
Always passionate about the world of sport, Marie-Claude Savard is currently filming a documentary on the members of the Hilton family, who marked the history of boxing in Quebec. “This project should see the light of day in spring 2024 on Crave. Currently I’m training boxing with professional boxer Alex Hilton. I am preparing to face comedian Cathy Gauthier in a match for which we still do not have an official date. This is a fight that will be filmed as part of my documentary. For her part, Cathy already trains in boxing and she happily accepted the challenge. We know each other well, she and I, because we host on the same radio station. Plus, I think it’s good for a 50-year-old woman like me to stay in shape and develop my reflexes.”

A KNOWN NEIGHBOR
Marie-Claude Savard also tells us that she has a great relationship with Mariloup Wolfe, her neighbor for eight years now. “We love each other a lot. Mariloup’s youngest son goes to the same school as my children. Over the years, we have developed a very beautiful friendship. Mariloup is someone I really appreciate. Having evolved for a long time in the very masculine world of sport, I am happy to be surrounded by strong women like Mariloup and my friend Anik Jean. I can therefore say that I have two female directors in my entourage.” On this subject, let us recall that Mariloup Wolfe released the film this summer Slush heart, while Anik Jean unveiled his first feature film, My mother’s men.

A DEVORING LOVE FOR REALITY TV
The host who is collaborating on the show this fall Fridays OD, hosted by Félix-Antoine Tremblay every Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Noovo, does not hide his crazy love of reality TV. “I think that’s all I listen to. I don’t miss one, either Occupation double, Survivor Quebec, Big Brother Celebrities and many others. For me, it’s pure pleasure to watch this. I also have a lot of respect for those who decide to embark on these adventures. I am also very happy to have been able to collaborate this year on the new season ofOccupation double. I love doing this and having the chance to meet the eliminated candidates every week.”

Accumulating great projects, Marie-Claude Savard however intends to reduce the pace a little in the coming months. “I have never been so busy in my entire life. Recent filming of investigative series Presumed innocent was quite an adventure. So I’m going to give myself a little more time for myself,” she says in closing.

The investigative series Presumed innocent: The Sébastien Métivier affair will be available on Crave starting November 29.
