One of the most important risk factors for a heart attack at a young age is heredity, but there are other factors that can lead to a heart attack, writes HuffPost citing cardiologist Nicole Harkin.
According to the specialist, young people who had a heart attack could have prevented it if they had regular heart checks. In particular, Harkin called chest pain a good reason for going to the doctor.
In addition, the doctor stressed that smoking, eating large amounts of processed meat and chronic lack of sleep increase the likelihood of a heart attack.
