A heart attack is an acute, life-threatening illness that affects around 80 people in Austria every day. It is a misconception that the dangerous heart disease can only affect older people. “In fact, a heart attack is not something that only affects seniors. Depending on the individual risk profile, younger people, usually from around the fourth decade of life, can also be affected by a heart attack,” says Primate Johann Auer.
