Prime Minister Han will visit companies once a week to understand regulatory issues

Visit small businesses and listen to suggestions… “Short-term problems are solved quickly”

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo announced that he would hold a ‘relay on-site meeting’ to promote corporate regulatory innovation.

Prime Minister Han visited Daemo Engineering, a small and medium-sized company in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 3rd, and held the first company on-site meeting, and said, “From now on, I will visit the heads of departments and companies once a week to understand and solve problems such as regulations.”

Prime Minister Han said, “(Today) is the first visit to solve ‘short-term problems’ by identifying problems with investment and solving them promptly.”

Prime Minister Han said, “Our goal is ‘investment-led growth’ that investment must lead in order to increase the competitiveness and productivity of the Korean industry. “He said.

Taking the corporate wastewater-related regulation as an example, Prime Minister Han pointed out, “Until now, when a company treats wastewater, there are regulations (procedures) such as which machine should be used in step A and which machine should be used in step B.”

“This is the field of corporate technology,” he said. “The government should intervene is the last step to check water quality, and the first part (technical field) should be left to companies.”

Five small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) representatives including Lee Won-hae, CEO of Daemo Engineering, Jo Si-young, CEO of Daechang, and Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses attended the meeting on this day.

Jo Joo-hyeon, Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, and Jang Young-jin, First Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy were also present.

At the meeting, representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) suggested ways to improve regulations in the government approval and certification system for products, long-term low-interest investment funds, SME succession, employment of foreign workers, and permission for factory expansion.

Prime Minister Han said, “We will look for solutions to the regulations discovered this time first. We will come up with ways to improve it,” he said.

He emphasized, “The will of the ruler (President Yoon Seok-yeol) to innovate regulations is stronger than ever, and a very large scale (organization) to support it will be put into action.”
