Prime Minister profiles terrorists attacking Burkina
Ouagadougou, August 24, 2022 (AIB) – The Prime Minister, Albert Ouédraogo drew up yesterday Tuesday, the profile of the terrorists who have attacked Burkina Faso for seven years.
In an interview broadcast Tuesday evening by Burkina national television, Prime Minister Albert Ouédraogo indicated that two terrorist groups are attacking Burkina Faso.
According to him, a first group is very active in the Sahel and a second in the interior of the country, namely in the North, in the Center-North, in the East, in the Cascades, in the Center-South, etc.
According to Albert Ouédraogo, contrary to the beginning of the attacks, it is now the nationals who are now the most numerous in the ranks of the attackers, leaving the complex attacks to foreigners.
The Prime Minister specified that the intelligence services were today able to carry out a profiling of terrorists in the country.
According to him, there are among others, the religious who defends his religion and who wants to establish a caliphate, the defender of the attacked community, the follower, the opportunist (bandits), the coerced victim who is the forced person to engage in groups.
“It is important for us to know all this and it is a step forward for the knowledge of those who attack us”, confided Albert Ouédraogo
Since 2016, Burkina has been plagued by terrorist attacks which have caused the death of hundreds of people, the displacement of more than 2 million internally displaced persons and the closure of many schools and health establishments throughout the national territory.
