A prison guard is accused of having an intimate relationship on the phone with an inmate.
Ruth Shmylo might have to serve a five-month sentence because of her telephone conversations with Harri Pullen, a drug dealer, while working in a category B prison, according to the Daily Mail.
“I had a great relationship with him and one day he came forward and gave me his number,” she told the judge.
She then mentioned that she first dialed the number thinking it was a joke.
Subsequently, the detainee allegedly threatened her and the telephone exchanges continued.
Ruth Shmylo handed over two love letters written by the criminal to investigators.
The defendant alleges that Mr. Pullen threatened her brother-in-law following she rejected him.
