Problems with the supplier would have postponed the new iPhone SE to 2025

New information from The Elec realize that the possible 4th generation iPhone SE would have been “postponed” to 2025 due to issues involving one of the suppliers of OLED screensOrganic light-emitting diodeor organic light-emitting diode.”>1 to the Apple: the chinese BOE Display.

According to the analyst Dae-Jeong Yoon, from UBI Research, the Apple supplier would be facing performance problems with the OLED screens of the upcoming “iPhones 15”, which could cause the company to stop delivering any component for the new smartphones, at least for now. If that happens, the South Koreans Samsung Display and LG Display will be able to replace it in this task.

As BOE would be completely focused on supplying components for the “iPhone 15” line, this delay would have left the production of the next iPhone SE in the background, pushing it to 2025. The manufacturer, it is worth noting, may still receive approval from Apple to start mass production of displays for the “iPhones 15” in August and October.

As much as Apple’s entry-level smartphone can hit the market with an OLED screen, it is very likely that it will bring much cheaper displays than those intended for the company’s premium line.

This information corroborates another bet by the analyst Jeff Pufrom Haitong International Securities, which also talks about a launch for 2025. The famous Ming-Chi Kuoin turn, countered by saying that Apple would have canceled plans to launch a new generation of the iPhone SE, and that the model with the design of the iPhone 14 rumored at the beginning of the year would be just a prototype for Apple to test its modem 5G.

So let’s wait.
